Evaluation Question 4
Radio Trailer Script
This is the script for our radio trailer:
Stacey Copeland: Boxing is rubbish we shouldn’t be doing it
and people feel quite comfortable openly judging me for doing the sport that I
do purely based on gender I can’t help the sport that I love.
Voiceover: There is a nationwide movement to get women
involved in sport. Campaigns like ‘This Girl Can’ have been created to try to
inspire and take the fear away from women being involved in sport.
Natasha Jonas: We’ve come a long way but we’ve still got a
long way to go. I’m not one hundred percent sure it will ever be one hundred
percent equal in my lifetime but I’d love to think that it could be.
Voiceover: Join the fight for equality, Below The Belt,
Monday at eight on Channel 4.
Codes and Conventions of Radio Trailers
Today I made a presentation on the codes and conventions of radio trailers.

Voiceover Script
This is the script we used to create our voiceover.
Many of the women seen in boxing today were unable to pursue
the sport from a young age (pause). Either due to a (emphasise) serious lack of
opportunities, or the fact that it was actually illegal for women to box until
1996 and the ABA didn’t sanction its first competition for women until 1997.
Society has typically viewed boxing as a (emphasise) purely masculine
sport. This has made many people, including females uncomfortable with seeing
women box.
There has been a nationwide movement to get women involved in
sport. Campaigns like ‘This Girl Can’ have been created to try to inspire and
take the fear away from women being involved in sport.

The Brief
In today's lesson we have outlined our A2 coursework.
Your brief is to produce the opening 5 minutes, including titles, of a 30 minute
television documentary programme.
You will also produce a radio trailer and a newspaper advertisement to
promote your programme.
You will plan the whole 30 minute documentary, but will only produce the first 5 minutes.
As part of your production you will need to conduct interviews. These interviews must be original
and authentic. No interviews can be scripted and you can not use somebody pretending to be
somebody else.
